When supplying artwork for your design, you can save us time and save yourself money by providing your artwork in the best format for the job. Please refer to the guidelines below as they apply to your particular application..
All custom logos, shapes, fonts require vector based artwork. This can be in CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator, or an EPS file created from the source design program. Standard team wear names and numbers shall be cut using standard block font, unless specified otherwise. If a special font is required, it shall be supplied by the customer, or we will attempt to match as close as possible. Raster images (jpg, bmp, etc.) are not suitable for producing vinyl cut designs. If vector artwork is not available, Ink 2 Thread can typically reproduce it but an artwork fee may be charged.
All designs will require digitizing at some level. Cost varies from basic text to multi-layer applique. The exception to this is a design that is already digitized from a previous embroiderer most embroiderers will be a dst file, we can accept that, but cannot be responsible for its quality. There is a difference between good and bad embroidery digitizing. Custom applique will require vector based artwork, to enable cutting of the various components. The preferred artwork format for printing is vector based. When this is not available, we can often work with a good quality raster image. The key to “good quality” is dpi (dots per inch). A 72dpi image may look ok on your computer screen, but when you blow it up to put on a shirt, it can be blurry, pixelated, or choppy. That’s why we prefer 300 dpi or higher, when scaled to the size you want printed. Just like cameras, the higher the resolution, the sharper the picture. If good artwork is unavailable, we can generally create it. Cost will depend on the level of complexity.
